Add Custom Item

This uses the same strategy as the old POS. If an item needs to be added to the order that is not on the menu, use one of the OPEN items. At least one OPEN item is included in each category.

1. Tap the category where the item would usually be found
2. Tap the OPEN item for that category — for example, OPEN FOOD - ENTREE. It is variable price, so type the price
3. Once the item is added, tap it in the order summary
4. Tap the Custom Modifier text box → type what the actual item is

Warning

Only use an OPEN item for exceptions. If the same item is being added this way several times per shift, bring it up to management so it can be added to the menu as a real item.
